Welcome to Talk Boxing
Welcome to Talk Boxing - the new home of Boxing on the web. The site is currently under development but we are proud to say that the guide to Boxing is up and available.
Boxing is one of the most famous sports in the world - the great fights attract massive crowds and generate millions of dollars in TV revenue as people still want to watch a good fight. Our guide has been put together by Melanie Clayton who writes about the history of the sport, the rules and how to get involved if you think Boxing is the sport for you.
If you want to know about the rules and weight divisions in Boxing then check out this page on our guide. You'll be able to find out the differences between Lightweights and Heavyweights and see how far apart British heroes like Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe in terms of weight divisions.

Diet and Equipment for you
For boxers, as with any sport, a good diet is a crucial part of staying in shape and keeping up with the demands of the training regime. Boxers need to eat well in order to maintain muscle strength and energy in the ring and avoid feeling tired and sluggish part way through a fight.

A boxer’s diet should be drawn up according to the recommended ratios of particular foodstuffs. Carbohydrates, proteins and fats are all crucial for providing the energy and nutrition a boxer needs.
